Craddle of ashes

A poet with no voice

Amid shots and blood
Under heavy fire
Two souls walk on the mud
Throughout the pain inside her

A frightened man
A woman in pain
Searching for a piece of ground
They could lie down

They found an empty and ruined home
To rest their weary bones
But her ordeal has just started
Her water broke in the yard

Desperately she screams
And he helps them out
Two tiny twins
Are born in the dark

He kept them warm
Parted their cord
Hid them away
From the incoming horde

Their screams grew near
With foreign words
That told loud and clear
Their father was gone

Then silence came as a stab in the chest
He sacrificed himself protecting his nest
His blood is all over the floor
And his body under the grass

Desperately she screams
But covered her mouth
Two tiny twins
Are born in the dark

Down from her chest
She gave them life
How long they'll last?
Will they survive?

Out of their nest
She tried her best
To seek for aid
For she's fading away

Exhausted, she fell
Right at the door
Her eyes closed shut
And won't open anymore

Desperately their screams
Echoed around
Two tiny twins
Are born in the dark

They were then found
But it was too late
Embracing each other
The twins hadn't made it

Desperately their screams
Weren't heard in time
Two tiny kids
Born in the dark

Desperately their screams
Weren't heard in time
Two tiny kids
Born in the dark
